I just arrived at Aurelio’s in Griffith IN and I am getting my balloon supplies together when two little boys and their mother entered the restaurant. The littlest boy quickly checked out the room to figure out where they’re going to sit. As he turns around, he sees me and recognizes my balloon apron. The first words out of his mouth were “Can I have a balloon?” Next came “I want an orange balloon.” His brother quickly chimed in asking if he could have one? Then they wanted to know my name; then they wanted an uninflated balloon, and then the questions flew at me like they were being shot out of a Tommy gun. I looked at the mother and she smiled and said “They’re always like this.” If only we can bottle the energy of 5 and 7 years old inquisitive energy and sell it. It would be the fountain of youth.
