Balloon Entertainer Making Media Blitz

Oak Forest, IL, July 15, 1998—Dale Obrochta known as Magical Balloon-dude Dale has been promoting himself all over Chicagolands airwaves. Wherever you turn you hear the twisting of balloons; from WGN’s morning news to the airwaves of AM1000--Steve Cochran’s show. Obrochta, who will be part of Cochran’s Gaelic Park radio show July 17^th, is looking forward to his 8^th encore appearance. He’s not just limited to radio; Obrochta was requested to help out with WGN’s Bastille celebration, when he created a replica of the Eiffel tower out of balloons.

Obrochta had a previous appearance on WGN’s morning news on July 3^rd. In this segment, they featured Obrochta and an American flag made out of balloons. "This was one of the most challenging balloon sculpture I have had to develop. I tried three different designs - one design would have made the flag 4' X 5' in length; then I realized that it would not fit in the car" says Obrochta. The final design was 3' X 4' with all seven red and six white strips with blue background and white stars. Along with the interview, Obrochta participated in the outdoor barbecue activities, creating Bugs Bunny, Mickey Mouse, Fourth of July balloon hats, and created a balloon limbo stick for the kids to limbo. "I had a request for a machine gun, and after I made the second gun the on-air producer suggested 'No more guns'" says Obrochta.

While waiting for his interview, Obrochta at WGN studio called Cochran’s morning show to plug his TV appearance. Giving him exposure both to television and radio coverage that morning.

Obrochta was a guest on the Cochran Show June 26^th at the Alumni Club in Schaumburg. Not only did he thrill the morning show guest with his balloons, but also he came prepared for the 90° heat with water balloons and a super soaker. "The morning was great, everyone had a blast and they were amazed that someone could make the Warner Brothers and Disney characters out of balloons, and by mid morning the audience was happy to be blasted with the super soaker" says Obrochta.

Obrochta in an earlier appearance made a balloon helicopter for the Cochran show, which will be displayed in an up coming balloon trade magazine called Balloon Magic, the Magazine. This will be Obrochta’s third appearance in this magazine. " I’m honored that the editor would choose my work to display," says Obrochta.
