Exapnds Social Media Footprint
Entertainers push content to their Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and TikTok but overlook the company LinkedIn page as the perception is LinkedIn is a social networking website designed for business professionals. I struggled on how to convey that making balloon animals would be attractive to “business professionals”? But over time, I realize that I’m a niche business, just like a real estate agent who specials in million-dollar lofts. You advertise the value, services, and benefits you bring to the industry.
If found LinkedIn gave me the ability to enhance my corporate image and join “the big companies” promoting business events. I can now showcase my skills to the marketing and HR department that hire entertainers and build my brand message.
Employees Become Company Ambassadors
Employees should be encouraged to share, retweet, and like the company web page like any corporate page. We all have friends, contacts, and family that work for different businesses, and when their company has an event, it’s easier for them to say, “Hey, I know a company,” and share your LinkedIn page. And for the entertainer who feels a website is not needed, the LinkedIn company page will be a viable option.
Promote Important News
I’ve been a big believer in Press Releases for decades as a way to promote events and increase SEO. The reason I do this is to enhance the importance of the event. LinkedIn allows you this same opportunity to post content, and this is an excellent way for an entertainer to write and promote an event that they feel is newsworthy.
Use the LinkedIn company page as a trusted resource, and promote press releases using other social media apps like Twitter and Facebook. Employees can share the press release with family and friends, and if they are inspired, can blog about the news and refer to the company’s LinkedIn page.
Branding Your Corporate Mission
Branding is the process of giving meaning to a specific organization, company, product, or service by creating and shaping a brand in consumers’ minds. It is a strategy designed by organizations to help people quickly identify and experience their brand and give them a reason to choose their products over the competition by clarifying what this particular brand is and is not.
The objective is to attract and retain loyal customers and other stakeholders by delivering a product aligned with the brand’s promises.
Business vs. Entertainers – Your business might have multiple services while you might have one primary skill as an entertainer. The benefits of having a company and a personal Linkedin page are, highlighting other entertainers or events you represent on your company page. Provides an opportunity to brand yourself as an entertainment service. Lastly, it allows you to highlight things that interest you as an individual page and connect with people who share your interests.
I used this image on the company LinkedIn page to promote the Balloon Animals blog and on my personal page I talked about the new graphic image that I created. One image, but two different messages shared with to groups of followers.
Established Your Company As A Professional Entertainment Service
When researching a company or product, I look for validation on why I should buy that product or service. I look at reviews, websites, and social posts. Showing professional-looking marketing material builds confidence in a buyer’s eye. We all know an entertainer who has a great marketing website, but we know their skills are average. Why limit your corporate image when LinkedIn company page can enhance your professional appearance and is free to build.
Final Thoughts
Entertainers should not hinder their business opportunities and should be taking advantage of all the tools that other industries use. Too often, entertainers forget that they are a business with services, and yes, we are a niche business. Still, we face the same problems of rising costs, shipping disruptions, and COVID-19 restrictions affecting our industry. LinkedIn company page allows you to communicate with your clients how your company deals with these issues and establish your brand’s image.
Using the Linkedin company page, I can separate and define my entertainment business from my personal goals. Allowing me to promote, build, and follow audiences that benefit each LinkedIn page.
